Ofra was established in 1975 at the foot of the Baal Hazor Mountain, one of the highest mountains in Judea and Samaria. There are currently about 700 families living in Ofra. There are various educational institutions and cultural facilities in Ofra, including Ofra Girls High School, a field school, the Cave Research Institute an industrial zone and agriculture.

Worth Visiting: Two boutique wineries – Tanya and Ventura; Amona Lookout; the “Chinese Sinkhole” – a system of karst sinkholes that can be visited by prior arrangement.
